Jaynne Brown, 85, daughter of the late Thomas and Laverta Henson Waters, was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Diehlstadt, Missouri, and departed her life Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Fountainbleau Lodge Care Center in Cape Girardeau. Jaynne Brown, 85, daughter of the late Thomas and Laverta Henson Waters, was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Diehlstadt, Missouri, and departed her life Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Fountainbleau Lodge Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

On April 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Oral Delano Yancy. He preceded her in death. She was then married John Winslow Brown in June 1983. He also preceded her in death.

She was owner and operator of Ed's Bar in downtown Cape Girardeau for 35 years until health issues caused her to close the business. Jaynne was a hard worker, who loved the Lord, her family and friends and will be missed by all.

Survivors include a son, John Howard Yancy of Fort Pierce, Florida; daughter, Janeene (Joe) Bates of Chaffee, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brian Payne Jordon Yancy, Jonathan Yancy and Patricia Boswell; and 11 great-grandchildren, Cody, Bailey, Emily, Holden, Alex, Teva, Avery, Lainey, Baylor, Sadie and Jack.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, James David Yancy; grandson, Randy Payne II; three brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Josh Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
