NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Jay Junior Chambliss, 51, of New Madrid died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 29, 1951, in Barstow, Calif., the son of J.R. and Leona Hunt Chambliss.
He had worked for Mid-American Transportation Barge Line.
He is survived by a son, Jody Chambliss of Portageville, Mo.; a daughter, Katrina Borders of Malden, Mo.; a brother, Scott Chambliss of St. Louis; six sisters, Dixie Akins of LaForge, Mo., Judy Keck of Sikeston, Mo., Nancy Walker of Lilbourn, Mo., Theresa Bradley of Oregon, Cindy Gafner of Illinois and Deonna Tanner of New Madrid; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home In Lilbourn.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn.
