CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Janie Lynn Connell Rauch, 63, of Chaffee passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 8, 1952, in Arlington, Tennessee, to the late Ferdinand T. and Dorothy M. Land Connell. She married William "Bill" Rauch on Aug. 18, 1972.
Janie retired from J.C. Penney, having worked there almost 24 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Chaffee.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, eating out, shopping, working in the yard and vacations (Janie and Bill traveled often, all over the world). She will be remembered for her kind demeanor, work ethic and, most of all, her willingness to help others.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Bill, of Chaffee; one daughter, Yolanda (Danny) Schlosser of Chaffee; one son, Tommy (Candi) Rauch of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers, David Connell of Savannah, Tennessee, and Wayne (Dawn) Connell of Oakland, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Kimberlie (Dustin) Nothdurft of Whitewater, Brennan and Charley Robinson, both of Chaffee; one great-grandson, Kole Nothdurft of Whitewater; and one aunt, Eva Jane Nowell of Cordova, Tennessee.
Janie also was preceded in death by her stepfather, JD King.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Steve Shepherd officiating, assisted by the Rev. Kevin Rhodes. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church in Chaffee or Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis.
