Janice Howard, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Bloomfield, Missouri, to Ralph and Geraldine Marie Graves Acord. She and George Howard were married Sept. 11, 1965, at Bel-Ridge, Missouri.
She worked at Boeing Aircraft in St. Louis for 21 years and Imperial Oil Refinery as a payroll supervisor for 18 years.
Janice was an avid reader and shopper and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, Brent and Hayden.
She had been a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Survivors include her husband, George Howard of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sherry (Mike) Shenberg of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Harold (Jeanie) Acord of Murrieta, California; and two grandchildren, Brent and Hayden Shenberg.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. A private burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
The family would like to thank the staff of the SPCU/oncology floor at Southeast Hospital for its care during Jan's illness.
