She worked at First State Bank for 20-plus years. Saying Jan lived life to the fullest would be an understatement. She had a contagious smile, positive attitude and the warmest heart. She made the most out of life through many things she enjoyed: spending time with her family, going to the lake/beach, vacationing, playing cards and shopping (couldn't leave this one out).

Her family was most important. She had two boys, Chevy (wife Lisa, daughter Sadie) and Cory (wife Lisa and expecting baby Dawson); and a stepdaughter, Nikki Armstrong (husband Brian, daughter Ashley and son Brian). She and Glen enjoyed spending time with them at the lake. Jan had three siblings, David Gelsheimer (wife Tara), Laura Gant (husband Russ) and Cheryl Cooper (husband Jack). She spent many weekends soaking up the sun with David and Tara, and went on countless vacations with Laura (and niece Hannah). She had four nephews, Ross Gelsheimer, Austin Gelsheimer, Weston Gant and Lucas Gant, and a very special niece, Hannah.

Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Jan are invited to Ponder Funeral Home from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Please come help us remember and celebrate the joy and laughter Jan brought us all.

Instead of flowers, it is Jan's request you make a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030, or the American Cancer Society, 201 N. New Madrid St., Sikeston, MO 63801, in her honor.
