Janet McMasters

Janet S. McMasters, 72, of Oak Ridge died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born March 17, 1942, in Oak Ridge, to Joe and Mae Sample Masterson. She and John McMasters were married Oct. 17, 1964.

Janet graduated from Oak Ridge High School. She received a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in counseling from Southeast Missouri State University.

She taught business classes at Union and Bell City high schools, was a student counselor at Southeast University, was a secretary for the president of Hillsboro Junior College and was a disability determination officer for the state of Missouri.

Janet is survived by her husband, John McMasters of Oak Ridge, and a brother, Jasper Masterson.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Old Goshen Cemetery north of Oak Ridge, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
