Jane Carol Norton Trudell, 83, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Munising, Michigan, daughter of Howard J. and Zelma G. Christian Norton. She and Richard Trudell were married July 5, 1957, in Marquette, Michigan. He passed away June 6, 2013.
Jane was a graduate of Munising High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. She was a social worker for the State of Michigan for a short time, stepping away from her profession to spend time at home while raising her children. She later returned to the workforce, working for WMU Health Center
Loving survivors include two children, Karen (Ken) Retter of Cape Girardeau and David Trudell of Harbor Springs, Michigan; and three grandchildren, Caroline, Christian and Carson Retter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years.
The family suggests contributions be made to a charity of choice.
