McCLURE, Ill. -- James H. Williams, 83, of McClure passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at his home.

Jim was born March 18, 1938, in McClure to Harry and Josephine Miller Williams. He married Hester "Sis" Kirby on Feb. 14, 1961, and she preceded him in death April 22, 2009.

Jim was a member of the Unity Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and had previously worked at Unimin for 17 years. Jim enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, mowing his lawn, and spending time with his dog, Skip.

He is survived by his grandson, Jeremiah Hale; sister, Lou Etta Smith; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Besides his wife, Sis Williams, Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Diana (Bill) Meggs and JoAnn Baugher; and his daughter, Jamie Williams.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.

A joint funeral service remembering the lives of Jamie Lee Williams and James Williams will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home at the funeral home, with Brother Bobby Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in Lindsey Cemetery.
