SIKESTON -- Funeral service for James Ray Washburn of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Gardner will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Washburn, 73, died Monday, June 10, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Fremont, son of James Franklin and Elizabeth Brandon Washburn. He and Edwina Farris were married Oct. 15, 1958, in Sikeston.
Washburn had worked in the warehouse at Malone and Hyde. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, James Washburn Jr. of the home, Ricky, Lonnie, Donald and Bobby Washburn, all of Hot Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Dianne Hasty of Sikeston, Nancy Bone of Hot Springs; a brother, Raymond Washburn of Hanford, Calif.; a sister, Maude Lewis of St. Louis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, five brothers and a sister.
