SIKESTON -- James William Lee, 99, of Sikeston, died Monday, March 14, 1994, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
He was born Oct. 2, 1894, in Morley, son of William Porter and Nancy Alice Misplay Lee. He and Mannie Lay were married April 1, 1939, in Osceola, Ark. She died May 9, 1990.
Lee owned and operated Lee's Dry Goods Store for several years. He was a member of Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston, and Webster Groves Masonic Lodge 84 AF&AM. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.
Survivors include a brother, W.P. Lee of Chaffee; four sisters, Birdie Stone of Cape Girardeau, Elizabeth Rains of Osceola, Pauline Griffith of Palmetto, Fla., and Grace Sauer of Scott City.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
