James 'Ed' Sturgeon, 62, of Advance died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at Bellview Valley Nursing Home in Banner, Mo.
He was born March 17, 1943, in Bollinger County, son of Raymond and Lula Angle Sturgeon.
Sturgeon had worked for the Missouri Highway Department and was a 1962 graduate of Zalma High School. He was a deacon and a member of the Oak Grove General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Josh Sturgeon of Advance; two daughters, Tonia Murphy of Advance and Anna Wilson of Piedmont, Mo.; a brother, Bob Sturgeon of Advance; four sisters, Shirley Grubbs of Dexter, Mo., Dorma Sturgeon of Zalma, Mo., Sandy Woodfin of Marble Hill and Cathy Clayton of Sikeston, Mo., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Morgan Funeral Home with the Revs. Rudy Pittman and Gary Cooper officiating. Interment will be at the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
