BENTON, MO. -- James William Stuckey, 88, of Ponder, Texas, formerly of Benton, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1931, in Commerce, Missouri, to Clarence Stewart and Violet Shay Riggs Stuckey. He married Ruth Ellen James on Dec. 29, 1954, in Benton, and she preceded him in death Jan. 17, 2012.
James was an avionics aircraft crew chief mechanic for American Airlines. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Smart and Connie Stuckey; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jimmy; great-grandchildren, Preston and Bennet; and two brothers, John and Paul Stuckey.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.
Funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Stoner officiating. Graveside service will be at noon Friday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
