BENTON, Mo. -- James J. "Jack" Sneed, 89, of Benton died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Tulu, Ky., son of Thomas Jefferson and Sarah Elizabeth Rogers Sneed. He and Lucille Mary Enderle were married Oct. 15, 1941, in Kelso, Mo...

BENTON, Mo. -- James J. "Jack" Sneed, 89, of Benton died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Tulu, Ky., son of Thomas Jefferson and Sarah Elizabeth Rogers Sneed. He and Lucille Mary Enderle were married Oct. 15, 1941, in Kelso, Mo.

He was a farmer and a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and the Benton Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Benton with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Denis Catholic Church with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
