MALDEN, Mo. -- Funeral for James "Jim" Mims of Malden will be held at 11 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Ronnie Parker will officiate. Burial will be in Parma Cemetery at Parma, Mo.
Mims, 53, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born April 4, 1947, at Parma, son of David Roy and Wilma B. Hess Mims.
Mims lived in Southeast Missouri most of his life, and at Malden the past several years. He was a member of Malden VFW Post.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a son, James Mims of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Jennifer Binz of House Springs, Mo.; eight brothers, Mervin and David Mims Jr. of Parma, Manuel and Lee Mims of Malden, Wayne Mims of New Madrid, Mo., Everett and Jerry Mims of Dexter, Ronald Mims of Bernie, Mo.; three sisters, Elaine Brooks of Dexter, Reba Ezell of Malden, Lily Ervin of Catron, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a sister, and a brother.
