James Craig McLaughlin, 55, of Cape Girardeau lost his battle with cancer Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1958, in Sedalia, Missouri, son of Patty Christy McLaughlin and the late Billy Gene McLaughlin. He and Karen Bristow were married Nov. 5, 2011, in Bernie, Missouri.
Craig had worked at VanMatre Buick, GMC and Cadillac in Cape Girardeau. He was an ardent golfer, and of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother, Patty McLaughlin of Harrisonville, Missouri; stepmother, Connie McLaughlin of Sedalia; a son, Jeff McLaughlin of Columbia, Missouri; a stepson, Jeremy Lacewell and wife Melissa of Gideon, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Kari Powell and husband Greg of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Dawn Weaver and husband Robert of St. Joseph, Missouri, Jill Grunewald and husband Mark of Minneapolis and April McLaughlin of Harrisonville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Lacewell, Hayden Lacewell and Zoey Powell; two nieces, Grace McLaughlin of Harrisonville and Harriet Grunewald of Minneapolis; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Sedalia.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bothwell Chapel, Sedalia Hospital, in Sedalia.
