James Albert Mayo, 63, of Scott City died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.
He was born June 7, 1945, in Peoria, Ill., son of Albert and Doris Scanlan Mayo. He and Gladys Lorraine "Lora" Shipley were married Nov. 8, 1993, in Chester, Ill.
Mayo was a self-employed commercial fisherman.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Brad and Mike Mayo of Greely, Colo., James Jones Sr. of Chester, Ill., Cosby Jones of Scott City; his mother of Bushnell, Ill.; a brother, Don Mayo of Burlington, Iowa; three sisters, Linda Campbell of Burlington, Debbie Heaton of Bushnell, Carolyn Ford of Fairview, Ill.; and 17 grandchildren.
There is no public service.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
