SIKESTON -- Funeral service for James Melvin Learue of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Burnes will officiate, with burial in Mounds Cemetery at Lilbourn.

Learue, 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1995, at Donaldson Point in New Madrid County.

He was born April 12, 1936, at LaForge, son of Herman and Lilly Clayton Learue. He and Cora Claudette Dirickson were married Dec. 3, 1974, in New Madrid.

Learue was a retired truck driver, and had worked at Ideal Concrete Co. in Nashville, Tenn. He moved to Sikeston in 1990 from Ridgetop, Tenn. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgetop.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Shannon Learue of Sikeston; three daughters, Jan Drake of Poplar Bluff, Renita Decker and Linda Learue of Dexter; three stepsons, Randy and Artie Hicks of Sikeston, Steven Hicks of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; three stepdaughters, Sondra Alliston of Nacogdoches, Texas, Debbie Boardman and Darlene Hicks of Sikeston; three brothers, Junior Learue of St. Louis, J.L. Learue of Morley, Scott Learue of Dexter; a sister, Nettie McMillian of Kentucky; 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
