CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for James Lucas Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Lucas, 52 years old, of 424 Jefferson, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 1990.
He was born Nov. 7, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of James Lucas Sr. and Louise Maxely Lucas. His mother, Louise Bedell of Cape Girardeau, survives.
He married Joyce Ann Redman in Chicago, Ill. in 1956.
He attended Holy Family Grade School and Central High School. He moved to Chicago in 1956, and moved back to Cape Girardeau in 1981.
Other survivors are sons, James Lucas II and Marvin Lucas, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughters, Rochelle Lucas, Los Angeles, and Debra Clemens, Chicago; brothers, Claude and Herbert Bedell, both of Chicago; Christopher Bedell, St. Louis, and Paul Bedell, Cape Girardeau; sisters, Ernestine Randall and Dolores Dunka, both of Chicago, and Connie Brown, St. Louis; and 10 grandchildren.
