BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- James Calvin Hyslop, 77, of Bloomfield died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

He was born Nov. 28, 1925, near Bloomfield, son of Roy and Ethel Wright Hyslop. He and Mildred Irene Ellis were married March 29, 1947, at Dexter.

Hyslop was a retired farmer, and was a bus driver 12 years with Bloomfield Public Schools. He was a member of Hills Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Stephen Hyslop of Dexter, Dennis Hyslop of Bloomfield, David Hyslop of Advance, Mo.; four sisters, Florence Bright of Jackson, Bonnie Brown of St. Louis, Betty Summers and Wanda Parks of Dexter; two brothers, Paul Hyslop of Bloomfield, Richard Hyslop of Birch Tree, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, three brothers, and four sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
