James Glenn Hutson, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau.
He was born July 29, 1940, in Eldorado, Kansas, to Glenn Jefferson and Helen Goll Farrar Hutson. James and Melody Baker were married Oct. 4, 1977, in Bremerton, Washington.
He worked in the family business until retiring in 1991.
He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves after 23 years of service. He helped start the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets. He was also a member of the Cape Girardeau Toastmasters.
He is survived by his wife, Melody; four children and seven grandchildren; and sister, Helen Hammond of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Hutson.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Cape Christian Community School or Southeast Missouri State University Music Academy.
