PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- James Hutchinson, 72, of Perryville died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born April 9, 1933, in Tennessee, son of Tom and Luler Ray Hutchinson. He and Gracie Perigo were married in Tennessee. She died Nov. 14, 2005.
Hutchinson had been a hot walker with Fairmont Park Race Track.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include four daughters, Julie Comte of Perryville, Vickie Sanders and Tracey Hutchinson of Granite City, Ill., Kathy Hutchinson of Belton, Texas; a son, Phillip Hutchinson of Perryville; five sisters, Brenda Douglas of Perryville, Diane Farmer of Granite City, Dorothy Cristel of Edwardsville, Ill., Frances Moore of Colorado, Ruby Kindell of Des Arc, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, four of whom he helped raise, Joshua, Timothy, Thomas and Sarah Hutchinson; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and infant twin sisters.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitewater Christian Cemetery in Perry County, with the Rev. Alan Martin officiating. Military honors will be courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
