SIKESTON -- James Henry Hayden Jr., 85, of Park Ridge, Ill., formerly of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1995, at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Ill.
He was born July 23, 1910, in Kuttawa, Ky., son of James Henry and Emma Krone Hayden Sr. He and Marguerite Heath were married April 22, 1931, in Wickliffe, Ky.
Hayden lived in Sikeston many years, moving to Illinois in 1944. He was a superintendent at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chicago from 1944 until retiring in 1964. From 1965-80 he owned and operated Hubbard Woods Shoe Repair in Winnetka, Ill.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Park Ridge, member of the Masonic Lodge, and past worshipful master of Sikeston Lodge 310 AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Hayden of Des Plaines, Ill.; a daughter, Rita Traversone of Chicago; two brothers, William Hayden of Little Rock, Ark., Anderson Hayden of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ellen Greer of Scottsdale, Ariz., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Fred Leist officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
