BENTON -- James H. Burford, 48, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1993, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.

He was born May 12, 1945, at Commerce, son of Ben F. and Edna Burford.

He attended school at St. Denis and Thomas W. Kelly Schools in Benton and the University of Missouri-Rolla.

He worked as an engineer with Bechtel Engineering.

He married Minnie Grandon.

Survivors include his mother; his wife; a daughter, Zabrina Atkins of Yokohama, Japan; a son, James Patrick Burford of Cabool, Mo.; two sisters, Kathleen Westrich of New Hamburg, Mo., Norma Jean Cleveland of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven brothers, Ben Burford of Chicago, Ill., Gary Burford of Kelso, Ronnie Burford of McClure, Ill., Vernon Burford of Cape Girardeau, Johnny Burford of St. Petersburg, Fla., Paul Burford and Lenny Burford, both of Benton; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Denis Church in Benton.
