EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- James Larry Evans, 54, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Spirling and Eva M. Harden Evans. He and Reba F. Sims were married March 7, 1988. She died June 2, 1996.
Evans lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church at Sikeston.
Survivors include a daughter, Cherry Mansfield of East Prairie; a stepson, Tim Newton of East Prairie; a brother, Phillip "Bud" Evans of Sikeston; three sisters, Barb Moore and Joann Brown of Sikeston, Kay Morton of Kewanee, Mo.; a grandson; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Thomas Snavely and Jerry Adams officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Myrtle Cemetery near Thayer, Mo.
