SIKESTON, Mo. -- Graveside service for James Theron Edsall Sr. of Sikeston will be at 2 p.m. today at IOOF Cemetery near Charleston, Mo. The Rev. William Henry will officiate.

Blanchard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Edsall, 66, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born April 19, 1935, at Canalou, Mo., son of Claude T. and Offie O. Basinger Edsall. He and Betty Childers were married Aug. 2, 1968, in Wickliffe, Ky. She died Oct. 11, 1998.

Edsall was a machine operator at Himmelberger-Harrison. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Morehouse Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, James Edsall Jr. of Kewanee, Mo., Jacie "Butch" Edsall of Palatka, Fla., Pete Payne of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jimmy Edsall of Morehouse, Mo.; three daughters, Betty Tinker of Sikeston, Marla Rapert of Charleston, Mo., Bobbie King of Morehouse; four brothers, Jerry Hunter of Canalou, Ivan, Frank and Daniel Edsall, all of the state of Kansas; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.
