MOREHOUSE -- James Earl Hart, 77, of Camdenton, died Sunday, May 25, 1992, at Boone Hospital Center.
He was born Sept. 17, 1914, at Morehouse, son of James Theodore and Bertha Green Hart. He and Elizabeth Wagner were married Dec. 12, 1947, at Sikeston.
Hart did undergraduate work at Memphis State University, and received a doctorate in education from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1956.
He had been an elementary teacher, principal and superintendent at Morehouse Public Schools from 1946-55. He then moved to Columbia and was professor of education at UMC from 1956-81. He was executive director of Missouri School Board Association from 1957-79.
Hart was a veteran, had been a Mason 50 years, and member of Scottish Rite and Phi Delta Kappa.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Hart of Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Jean Kinney of Troy, Mich., Sally Masterson of Mission, Kan.; a brother, Jim Green of Kentucky; a sister, Virginia Chapman of Columbia; a sister, Charity Shaw of Rock Springs, Wyo., and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Camdenton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim McComb will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
