TAMMS, Ill. -- James M. Dickerson, 55, of Tamms died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 14, 1949, in Cairo, Ill., son of Luther Mitchel and Carrie Ilene Lessar Dickerson. He and Lula Hill were married May 3, 1985, in Union County.
Dickerson worked in mining and as a commercial fisherman.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Dickerson of Gale, Ill., Alvin Dickerson of Anna, Ill., Mitchel Dickerson of Jonesboro, Ill.; a daughter, Ashley Dickerson of Carbondale, Ill.; a brother, Timothy Dickerson of Tamms; five grandchildren; seven stepchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a daughter and a sister.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sims Cemetery near Elco, Ill., with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating.
