James "Salty" Cooper, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Peter and Ruth Greer Cooper. He married Annie Oberts in 1966. James is survived by his wife, Annie; two daughters, Ann Marie Cooper and Rachel Long; a son, Chris Cooper; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives...

James "Salty" Cooper, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Peter and Ruth Greer Cooper. He married Annie Oberts in 1966.

James is survived by his wife, Annie; two daughters, Ann Marie Cooper and Rachel Long; a son, Chris Cooper; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
