ESSEX -- James Case, 64, of Essex died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at his home. He was born March 24, 1932, near Bell City, son of Arnold Alvin and Bessie Whittley Case. He and Helen Janette Moore were married Nov. 19, 1955, in East St. Louis, Ill. Case had worked at IXL Manufacturing Plant in Dexter, and at Hussman Refrigeration in St. Louis. ESSEX -- James Case, 64, of Essex died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1932, near Bell City, son of Arnold Alvin and Bessie Whittley Case. He and Helen Janette Moore were married Nov. 19, 1955, in East St. Louis, Ill.

Case had worked at IXL Manufacturing Plant in Dexter, and at Hussman Refrigeration in St. Louis. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in East Prairie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include three sons, Steven Case of Bremerton, Wash., Billy Case of Bloomfield, David Case of Essex; a daughter, Kathy Parrott of St. Louis; his mother of Essex; five brothers, Larry Case of Dexter, Robert Case of Walnut Hill, Ill., Ronald Case of Hartselle, Ala., Lawrence Case of Washington, Mo., Leroy Case of Essex; two sisters, Vernadean Barnes of Harrison, Ark., Brenda Watson of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. D.L. Totty officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery at Bloomfield.
