DEXTER -- James C. Burke, 68, of Dexter, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1993, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 25, 1925, at Dexter, son of Clyde and Bertha Triplett Burke. He and Marguerite Layton were married July 23, 1946, at Dexter.
Burke was maintenance supervisor at Bloomfield Housing Authority. He was a veteran of World War II, received the Purple Heart, and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James W. Burke of Jackson; a daughter, Sharon Trammell of Dexter; three brothers, Paul Burke of Grand Rapids, Mich., Burrell Burke of Burton, Mich., Earl Burke of Six Lakes, Mich.; four sisters, Mabel Deno of Lennon, Mich., Ruth Townsend of Dexter, Velma Glenn of Davison, Mich., Thelma Sullivan of Cape Girardeau, and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Revs. Clifford Wray and Jerrold Lake will officiate, with burial in Dexter Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
