ULLIN, Ill. -- James M. Baxter, 86, of Ullin died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
He was born Aug. 17, 1915, at Oscar, Ky., son of Cecil and Elsie Green Baxter. He and Florence Albright were married Nov. 7, 1938.
Baxter was a retired deckhand. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olmsted, Ill., and the Caledonia Lodge 47 AF & AM in Pulaski, Ill.
Survivors include a son, James M. Baxter of Centralia, Ill.; a sister, Mattie Barrow of LaCenter, Ky.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
