CHAFFEE, Mo. -- James "Jim" Andrews, 76, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at his home in Chaffee.
He was born Feb. 22, 1945, in Fort Myers, Florida, to the late J.D. and Syble "Vina" Hester Andrews Sr. On Aug. 17, 1968, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Nothdurft in Whitewater.
At that time, he had been drafted into the U.S. Army. After discharge, he went on to teach high school at Bell City, Oran and Advance, Missouri, and work as a counselor at Zalma, Missouri. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee and enjoyed woodworking and participating in historical rendezvous.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife; daughter, Sharon Andrews (Justin Mariner) of Paducah, Kentucky; son, Patrick Andrews of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Frances (J. Michael) Hannah of Stephenville, Texas, and Rusalyn Andrews of Overland Park, Kansas; and grandson, Liam Andrews-Mariner of Paducah.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Interment will follow in the Stroderville Cemetery near Whitewater.
