THEBES, Ill. -- Jackie Dale Stevens, 74, of Thebes passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 20, 1945, in Bollinger County, Missouri, to Dale and Ruby Hanners Stevens. He and Roberta Kaufman were united in marriage in 1963.
Jack retired from Florsheim Shoe factory in Cape Girardeau. He was a farmer, raising cattle and crops on his farm near Thebes.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta, of Thebes; sons, Ronnie Dale Stevens and David Eugene Stevens, and daughter, Melissa Criddle, all of Thebes; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kathy Elane Stevens; and two sisters, Bobbie Choate and Betty Ford.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church of the Heartland in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with Pastor Zack Strong officiating. Interment will follow at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Illinois.
Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to Down Syndrome Foundation or Residential Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church.
