CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jackie Martin Parker, 63, of East Prairie, Mo., and formerly of Charleston, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at the home of his sister in Diehlstadt, Mo.
He was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Deventer, Mo., son of James Floyce and Daisy Margaret Johnson Parker.
He had lived in Mississippi County his entire life and was a member of First General Baptist Church in Charleston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and had been employed in farming until his retirement.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Joan Miller of Diehlstadt; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Meeks officiating.
The body has been cremated and private internment will be conducted at a later date.
