MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Jackie Glendon Newell, 65, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Eldercare of Marble Hill. He was born Nov. 20, 1940, at Morley, Mo., son of Earl Franklin and Lottie Ellen Gibbs Newell. MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Jackie Glendon Newell, 65, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Eldercare of Marble Hill.

He was born Nov. 20, 1940, at Morley, Mo., son of Earl Franklin and Lottie Ellen Gibbs Newell.

Newell was a packer at VIP Industries in Marble Hill, and was a member of Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Glen Newell of Bloomfield, Mo.; his mother of Grassy; and a sister, Ruby Swartz of Grassy.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery.
