SIKESTON -- Jacqueline S. "Jackie" Fakes, 59, of Sikeston died Saturday, April 15, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Matthews, the daughter of Ralph L. McGee of Murray, Ky., and Violetta Anderson McGee of Matthews. On March 23, 1975, in Union City, Tenn., she married James C. Fakes.
Fakes was an elementary school teacher for 23 years and taught at Matthews and Southwest Elementary schools in Sikeston. She was a member of the Sikeston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the First United Methodist Church, singing in the church choir. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband; her stepmother, Dorothy McGee of Murray, Ky.; two stepsons, Richard C. Fakes of North Little Rock, Ark., and Gary W. Fakes of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Marcia Witt of Sikeston; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
