Jacqueline "Jackie" Aufdenberg, 83, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 18, 1935, in St. Louis to Henry A. and Thelma Halley White.
She and Albert F. "Junior" Aufdenberg met on a blind date at the SEMO District Fair in 1954. They were married Aug. 28, 1955, at Methodist Church in Piedmont, Missouri. Four children were born to their union: Shirrell, Darrell, Don and Mark. They had been married 62 years, when Junior passed away Feb. 11, 2018.
Jackie was a graduate of Piedmont High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She and Junior farmed near Tilsit all their married lives, and Jackie worked 25 years at State Farm Claims Office in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1997.
Jackie was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit and its altar guild. She was a former 4-H crafts project leader and enjoyed quilting and stitchery.
To cherish her memory, Jackie leaves four children, Shirrell (J.L.) Routon of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Darrell (Karen) Aufdenberg of Jackson, Don (Donna) Aufdenberg of Jackson and Mark (Wanda) Aufdenberg of Gordonville; eight grandchildren, Erika (Scott) Russell, Jody Routon, Jill (Aaron) Kuhn and Julie, Nathan, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Lauren Aufdenberg; two stepgrandchildren, Zach and Taylor Nolan; three great-grandchildren, Riley and Wyatt Russell and Carson Kuhn; two great-stepgrandchildren, Greta and Jim Nolan; a brother, Douglas (the late Perma) White of Weldon Springs, Missouri; a sister, Sara Jane (the late Ken) Davis of Chesterfield, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Leon (Donna) Aufdenberg of Burfordville and Robert (Shirley) Aufdenberg of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Gladys Aufdenberg of Cape Girardeau; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her stepmother, Cora Beatrice Holt White; a sister, Patricia (Ted) Montgomery; three brothers-in-law, Harold (Kathryn) Aufdenberg, Earl (Marian) Aufdenberg and Marvin Aufdenberg; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn (Roy) Gholson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Chapel A of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Boettcher officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be made to the general fund of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit.
