JACKSON -- Wilbur Orville "Jack" Yancey, 77, of Jackson died Friday, April 9, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 15, 1921, at Pocahontas, son of Robert Theodore and Jesse McLard Yancey. He and Dorothy Thompson were married May 28, 1949, in Piggott, Ark.
Yancey was a truck driver 37 years, and had worked for Kimbel, Delta and ABF Truck Lines. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Yancey of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Yancey of Millersville, Rebecca Yancey of Jackson; a brother, Robert Yancey of Jackson; a sister, Lillian Wolfenkoehler of Jackson; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
