Jackie "Jack" Wilhite, 63, of Oak Ridge went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, March 24, 2018, with his wife and son by his side.
Jack was born July 15, 1954, in New Madrid County, Missouri, the son of Zachariah and Annie Tharp Wilhite. He was the last of five children.
He attended Portageville (Missouri) High School. He had worked as a carpenter, salesman and co-owner of Heartland Overhead Door. He was very passionate about restoring old cars, with 55 Chevys being his favorite. He also loved his horse, Rocky, and dog, Gus.
Jack was a born-again Christian and was a member of Zalma General Baptist Church; he had served as a deacon for a number of years. Since moving to Oak Ridge, he had been attending the Cape County Cowboy Church.
Jack married his soul mate and best friend, Theresa J. Schatte, on Dec. 30, 1996, in Jackson, and she survives of the home.
Survivors are the loves of his life: his wife, Theresa Wilhite; his son, Billy Jack Wilhite of Statesville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Luke Wilhite of Oran, Missouri, Lauren Wilhite of Scott City; brothers, Roy Wilhite of Atwood, Tennessee, and Donnie Wilhite of Kennett, Missouri; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Zalma General Baptist Church.
