MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Jack L. Troy Sr., 74, of Marble Hill died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 2, 1934, in Dyersburg, Tenn., son of William Harris and Sue Kathyrn Hendren Troy. He first married Cherry A. Bryan on June 25, 1954. He and Jeanie D. Wells were married Oct. 21, 1985.
Troy was a graduate of Dyersburg High School and Memphis State University.
He was a construction manager with Forcum-Lannon Construction in Dyersburg from 1954 to 1966, and operated his own construction company in Dyersburg from 1967 to 1975. Troy worked for R. Clinton Construction in Sikeston, Mo., from 1977 to 1984; at B.W. Birk Inc. in Jackson from 1985 to 1989; and in 1989 started J. Troy Construction in Marble Hill, and began working with Precision Roofing and Supply in Glenallen, Mo., in 1996.
Jack closed J. Troy Construction in 2004, but worked with Precision until retiring in 2008. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanie W. Troy of Marble Hill; two sons, Jack L. Troy Jr. and William B. Troy, both of Dyersburg; a daughter, Kathy E. Glaze of Lynn Haven, Fla.; a brother, Terry A. Troy of Boone, N.C.; five grandchildren, Jarred S. Fowlkes, Sara K. Norton, Loren Casey Troy, William H. Troy II, John E. Troy; and a great-grandson, Skyler L. Fowlkes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There is no visitation.
The funeral will be private.
Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
