Jack M. Obermiller, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1920, in Jackson, son of Theodore and Ethel Davis Obermiller. He and Celeste Perkinson were married March 14, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.
Obermiller served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1963. He served in the European Theater during World War II with the 6th Armored Division, served during the Korean War, and also in Japan.
He was a wholesale credit manager until retiring in 1985. After living in Alexandria, Va., Kansas City, Mo., and Stuart, Fla., the Obermillers moved to Chateau Girardeau in 2002. He was a member of SEMO Choral Union and First Presbyterian Church choir.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brad Obermiller of Cape Girardeau, Gary Obermiller of Cookeville, Tenn., Jeff Obermiller of Alexandria; a brother, James Obermiller of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Paul Kabo Jr. and Dr. Ken Moxey officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
