DEXTER -- Earl "Jack" McClain, 66, of Dexter died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 3, 1932, at Bloomfield, son of Orville and Gertie Mae Herrell McClain. He and Delores J. Niemi were married April 18, 1974, in Valdosta, Ga.
McClain was a self-employed plasterer. He was a member of Plasterers Local 3 in St. Louis, American Legion, and Euclid Branch of the Masonic Lodge in Overland. He served in the Missouri National Guard 17 years.
He was raised in Bloomfield, moved to St. Charles in 1953, retired in 1994 and moved to Dexter.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Glen Miller of Portage Des Sioux; three daughters, Teresa Kinder of Kennett, Deborah Tremmel of Maryland Heights, and Lori Lauer of St. Charles.
Also surviving are three brothers, Robert "Jiggs", Wilbur and Ray McClain of Bloomfield; two sisters, Terzah Cope of St. Peters, Violet Vollmer of St. Charles; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
