JACKSON -- James "Jack" Lowe, 70, of Jackson died Monday, July 13, 1998, at his home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Des Arc, son of James M. and Gladys H. Lowe. He and Marie E. Waller were married Oct. 13, 1945, at Potosi.
Lowe retired as a machine operator at Procter & Gamble. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Lowe of St. Peters; two daughters, Phyllis Seabaugh of Jackson, Carolyn Pierce of Festus; five brothers, George Lowe of Palaka, Ill., Jerry Lowe of Old Mines, Danny Lowe of St. Louis, Richard Lowe of St. Clair, and John Lowe of Buford.
Also surviving are four sisters, Bernice Cresswell, Ruth Hill and Marilyn Coleman of Potosi, Joyce Ajrtupee of O'Fallon; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 4:30-8:30 p.m. today at Britton Brothers Funeral Home in Potosi.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at Potosi.
