SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jack Raymond Lewis, 71, of Sikeston died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 24, 1930, in East Prairie, Mo., son of Orbra William and Dixie Elizabeth Shy Lewis. He and Polly McMillen were married Oct. 4, 1952, in New Madrid, Mo.
Lewis was office manager with Lewis Furniture Co. more than 30 years. He had lived in Sikeston 33 years, moving from New Madrid. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Sikeston Elks Lodge 2319, and Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Lynn Lewis of Bloomfield, Mo.; four daughters, Paula and Libby Lewis of Sikeston, Mary Denise McReynolds of Cape Girardeau, Jacqueline Mason of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Joe Lewis of Kansas City; a sister, Laura Sherman of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Church. Msgr. William Stanton will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
