LILBOURN -- Jack Calbert, 78, of Lilbourn died Thursday, Aug. 7, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 27, 1919, in Tiptonville, Tenn., son of Travis Leonard and Ruth Evelyn Daniels Calbert. He and Edith Imogene Frazier were married May 28, 1943.

Calbert was a businessman in the Sikeston area more than 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rita Johnson of LaPlace, La.; three sons, Ronnie Calbert of Willard, Jackie Calbert of Lilbourn, Rick Calbert of Malden; his stepmother, Lillian Lott of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Violet Kemp of Bridgeport, Ala., Martha Austein of Memphis; two brothers, Ira Calbert of Trezevant, Tenn., Billy Calbert of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 4-8 p.m. today and Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Bishop Matt Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
