Grover “Jack” Bowers, 83, of Millersville passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 20, 1933, in Oran, Missouri, son of George and Mary Lape Bowers. He and Karen Schreiner were married May 31, 1986.
Jack was a member of Haynes Chapel near Millersville. He worked 22 years at Jackson Handle Factory. After his retirement in 1985, he was able to spend time with and enjoy his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Karen, loving survivors include four sons, Danny (Martha) Bowers of Jackson, Randy (Marlo) Bowers of Whitewater, Bradley (Tara) Bowers of Jackson and Levi (Maria) Bowers of Millersville; a stepdaughter, Teresa Delph of Fredericktown, Missouri; a brother, Paul (Delores) Bowers of Topeka, Kansas; a sister, Juanita (Earl) Bostic of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Haynes Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Jerry Sanders officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery near Millersville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairview Cemetery.
