CAIRO, Ill. -- Ivery D. "I.D." Williams, 67, of Cairo died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at his home.
He was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Huntington, Tenn., son of Willie and Alene Crittenden Williams. He married Mary Walker.
Williams served 18 years in the U.S. Army, and several years in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by United Trans Trucking Co. in Cairo more than 20 years.
Survivors include his wife; 12 sons, Ivery, Fred, Dennis, Victor, Andre, David, and Corey Williams, Alvin Spencer, Jeff and Rick Pillow, Marcus Mitchell, Max Brown; 12 daughters, Irene, Marsha, Stephanie and Virginia Williams, Ella Cassel, Teresa Chappell, Lisa Ward, Carla Gordon, Melisa Brown, Andrea Moore and Charlotte Bowen; a sister, Lillie Tarver; 31 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy City Church of God in Christ in Cairo. Dr. Grady Johnson and the Rev. Harry Tarver will officiate, with burial in National Cemetery at Mound City.
Friends may call at the church Friday from 9 a.m. until service time.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
