Ivan Hobbs, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1916, at Swinton, Mo., son of Harry and Myrtie Jackson Hobbs. He and Georgia Hamilton were married Aug. 23, 1983, in Cape Girardeau. She died Jan. 22, 1998.
Hobbs was a punch press operator 30 years at the former Superior Electric. He was a member of VFW Post 3838 and American Legion Post 63.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Michael Hobbs of Dexter, Mo.; a brother, Delano Hobbs of Benton, Mo.; a sister, Juanita Riggs of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in George Cemetery near Swinton.
