MILLERSVILLE -- Memorial service for Ivan E. Nelson of Bradenton, Fla., was held Aug. 29 at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home. The Rev. W.A. Gillett and Tom Winters officiated.
Nelson, 68, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1992, at his home.
He was born in Newark, but the family later moved to Millersville when he was very young. He attended school at Millersville and Jackson. He married the former Marie Daume of Cape Girardeau.
The Nelsons lived in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis before moving to Bradenton in 1958. He was owner and operator of Nelson Trucking Co. Nelson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW Post 9226, Ellenton and Moose Lodge 2117 of Palmetto.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, LaDonna Summers of Grand Blanc, Mich., Lana Nelson of Bradenton, Connie Massee of Fitzgerald, Ga.; a son, Robert Nelson of Lake City, Fla.; a sister, Louise Propst of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Russell Nelson of Millersville, and 11 grandchildren.
