SIKESTON -- Isabell Dodds, 96, of Sikeston died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1902, in Monroe County, Miss., daughter of Jefferson and Ila Brooms Copeland. She and William Dodds were married in 1925 in Prairie, Miss. He preceded her in death.
Dodds helped her husband farm. She was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church. She had lived in Sikeston more than 50 years.
Survivors include five daughters, Dellar Dodds, Janie Murphy and Kathey Murphy, all of the home, Ruby Rhyne and Ida Wimberley of Sikeston; a brother, George Copeland of Amory, Miss.; two sisters, Martha Lewis of Bristol, Tenn., Maggie Renfro of Amory; 21 grandchildren, including Susan Hoffmann and Jimmy Wimberley who were raised in the home; 42 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Amos Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.
